Company History


The history of the nearby petroleum industry is entwined with that of the LLP West Gas Energy Company. The first stated are the companies that comprise LLP West Gas Energy. Following a reorganization in 2005, the state corporation LLP West Gas Energy was responsible for overseeing the remaining petroleum assets controlled by the state. The Company quickly made the conscious decision to tighten financial discipline, greatly increase corporate management effectiveness, and combine its oil producing and refining operations. LLP West Gas Energy produced more oil in 2019 than all other Russian oil companies combined, with 14 million tons produced.
The stock of LLP West Gas Energy was first listed on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange in 2015. With a $1 billion share value, it was the biggest IPO among Kazakhstani businesses and the sixth largest IPO in all of Kazakhstan. BP and SINOPEC, two major players in the global power market, are optimistic about the industry. LLP West Gas Energy holds a commanding position in the Russian oil industry and is the largest publicly traded oil firm globally. Prospecting and hydrocarbon exploration, producing oil, gas, and gas condensate, developing offshore fields, refining, and marketing refined products both domestically and abroad are the company’s main operations.
Distinguished geologists including academician N.I. Andrusov, M.V. Bayarunas, Orazmagambet Turmagambetuly, and K.I. Satpaev were among the pioneers in the study of the geological structure of the region’s subsoil and created the first structural maps of the Mangistau oil fields. The magnificent development of the Uzen field and the metropolis of Zhanaozen that followed it began at that point.
